The oldest, Amelia Simmons’ American Cookery, was published in 1796, only two brief decades after the Continental Congress declared the nation’s independence. Just over 200 years later, Fernando & Marlene Divina’s Foods of the Americas graced the culinary landscape with a wealth of traditional Native American recipes.
We are proud to offer you adaptations or exact reproductions of 19 recipes found in the seven cookbooks as well as photos to aid in your preparation. At present, the recipes represent three different meal courses, and two dishes have an additional recipe available based on your particular taste.
